  • 2009 Cookie Incentives

    Help choose next year's cookie incentives! The 2008-09 Girl Incentive Survey is now active on the council website at
    www.girlscoutsurveys.com/GSNETX The theme this next season is "Imagine If...We Could Change the World"

  • Service Unit Meeting

    The next service unit meeting will be held Monday, September 8, at 7 p.m.

  • Membership Rally

    This year's membership rally will be 7 p.m September 11 at Wellington Elementary.

  • Movie

    Come Join SU 406 Girls Scouts at the Studio Movie Grill For “Journey to the Center of the Earthl” July 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.   Cost $16.00 for Girl Scouts $15.00 a person for tagalong and adults.   Fee includes: Movie Admission, Pizza Buffet, unlimited drinks and popcorn. Girl Scouts receive a patch. Registration flyer available from the files area on the Yahoo Group.

  • God and Country Award

    Protestant Religious Class for Scouts will be held September 14 - October 19 at Trietsch Memorial. See flyer for more information.

  • Daisies Selling Cookies? YES!

    Beginning in the fall of 2008, Girl Scout Daisies can sell cookies. The new materials for the GS Daisy Cookie Program Daisy include many activities of learning and doing and has an accompanying leader's guide. These include a story featuring some of the characters from "Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden" journey. These new materials will be available on-line in August and can add another five (or more) sessions to the Daisy experience.for girls.

  • Journeys

    GSUSA has now stated that the journeys for the GS Junior, GS Cadette and GS Senior & Ambassador levels WILL be a prerequisite for the GS Bronze, Silver and Gold awards within their respective levels.

    The "It's Your World -Change it" journey series is being translated into Spanish and are titled "Es tu mundo. !cambialo! Daisy, Brownie & Junior journeys are on track for release in October. The Cadette, Senior & Ambassador timeline will follow soon.

  • Adult Development

    CPR Training with It's Breathtaking offers convenient times in Lewisville.

    The Flower Mound Fire Department offers CPR certification. The American Heart Association CPR course is available once a month on Saturdays. Cost is $10 to cover materials. The classes run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Classes are limited to twelve people. Participants will receive a completion card documenting successful completion of the course. Register and pay for the class in advance at the Central Fire Station during normal business hours. The course covers adult CPR with some review of child and infant

    Now available for free download is a service-learning supplement to assist youth in the completion of their service project component of F.I.L.M. Adapted from Youth Service America (YSA) materials, the guide may be used in conjunction with any program. It serves as an excellent service project planning and management resource for youth facilitators and youth. Topics include: Tips for Adults and Youth Working Together, Understanding Service-Learning, Engaging Youth Volunteers with Disabilities, Generating Project Ideas, Service Ideas by Subject Area, Determining Responsibilities, and Engaging Media.
